Discounted Ocean Freight Rates - and Special Volume Incentive Credits
Negotiating on the Basis of the membership's collective container volume AISA is able to offer contract and freight discounts which, depending on trade lane and carrier contract, can be high as $500 per 40ft container.
C-TPAT - Supply Chain Program
Following workshops and panel presentations on the subject of C-TPAT, AISA has launched a C-TPAT Membership Program which will speed up the C-TPAT membership application process for importers as well as C-TPAT membership for the importers' overseas vendors. Trade and Transportation Conferences
Organized jointly by AISA and USA-ITA, they are an important element in updating and educating our membership. In addition to our annual Trade and Transportation Conference in New York City, Customs Seminars and workshops on a wide range of apparel importing issues are held in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle - as well as in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing.
Representation in Washington - U.S. Customs
Representing the interests of our predominantly small and medium sized importers before the U.S. Congressional committees and government agencies is another important part of our membership services. The association's general counsel is located in Washington D.C. - expert legal advice on Customs related issues is available to our members through Customs Counsel on retainer with USA-ITA, or through one of the numerous other law-firms which are members of the trade association.
